GALAX is the only fair one. Manufacturer means worse equipment
Have you been planning to buy a new PC or graphics card? Were you afraid of getting the announced, worse model? Some companies don’t play it safe and mark what memory was used in production.
It is no secret that producers are preparing for an imminent debut “new” graphics cards. However, contrary to appearances, it is not about a series NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5000 Whether AMD Radeon RX 8000and a modified version of the well-known system – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070.
GALAX clearly states on the packaging that it uses GDDR6
The culprit is the company Micronwhich delivered a batch of VRAM that did not meet Green standards. As a result, there is a shortage of memory GDDR6X and it is planned to release the same graphics cards based on the older one GDDR6. However, no manufacturer has ever explicitly signaled this. Fortunately, there is an exception.
The first proprietary GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6 models have already reached foreign editorial offices. Hassan Mujtaba from Wccftech boasted a photo of the company’s system GALAX (in our country it is called KFA2). You can see that the box has a new print that clearly emphasizes the use of the GDDR6 standard.
The amount of VRAM itself will not change – it will still be 12 GB on a 192-bit data bus. However, it will be 5% slower. – 20 Gbps, instead of 21 Gbps. This will of course affect performance, but the difference should not be big. We will learn more in a day or so during independent tests.
Unfortunately, the offers of the first stores clearly suggest that GeForce RTX 4070 with worse VRAM will cost the sameand in some cases more than the original with GDDR6X.
