Film giant is quitting the popular messenger. And he has a reason for it

The Walt Disney Company has announced plans to end its partnership with Salesforce, the owner of Slack. As for the reasons behind the decision, they are very clear and leave no doubt.

All after a few weeks ago a huge amount of data has leaked from Disney, including previously unpublished plans and recordings. As we wrote on Telepolis, hackers stole this information via Slack.

Disney CEO Hugh Johnston was said to have decided that the company is set to discontinue use of this popular corporate messenger this year. According to Reuters, the first departments in the company have already begun to move to other technical solutions that are to replace Slack. However, Disney did not provide information on which tools were chosen to replace the Salesforce product.

In July of this year, a hacker group called NullBulge released information about their acquired Disney materials. In total, over 44 million Slack messages were stolen. This also includes the source code of some projects and previously unpublished recordings, including completely new projects from this film giant.
