Filled with screens, the interior of the Audi Q6 e-tron is also a unique auditory show

Audi takes us inside its next electric SUV by presenting a little more detail on what awaits us in the upcoming Q6 e-tron.

Well, it is not yet at the 2023 Munich Motor Show which opens its doors to the press this Monday September 4 that we will discover its future SUV, the Q6 e-tron, on the Audi stand. It is well exposed, but still camouflaged. And the company with the rings has been talking to us for some time about its model, which it had already presented to us with another, more colorful camouflage.

However, Audi has decided to tell us a little more about the one that is ideally suited to compete with the Tesla Model Y. In particular by projecting us inside its 100% electric SUV and lifting the veil on everything or part of its passenger compartment. And guess what: it will have screens absolutely everywhere.

A unique digital experience

One behind the wheel for the instrumentation. Another in the center for infotainment. And another one facing the passenger to keep him occupied during long journeys. No less than three screens have been integrated into the dashboard of this new Audi Q6 e-tron which is more digital than ever at Audi.

Beyond the number of screens, it is their arrangement which is also new for the Ingolstadt firm, since the two screens which are mainly used by the driver are grouped under a single panel, which is also curved. This is reminiscent of BMW and its current iDrive system, or also Peugeot and its very next 3008.

The screen used for the instrumentation, facing the driver, still called Audi Virtual Cockpit, measures 11.9 inches, while the one in the center dedicated to infotainment with the MMI system measures 14.5 inches. .

Both are OELD technology, and are grouped under a 26.4-inch panel. The third screen, still OLED, measures 10.9 inches. We can still regret that it is not better visually integrated, the reference still remaining the EQS which brings together the three screens under a single panel, the famous 55 inch (141 cm) Hyperscreen.

The digital experience of this future Q6 e-tron would not be complete without the head-up display which is also in front of the driver, the perspective of which has been worked to display the main information as if it were between 9 to 13 meters in front of the car. And even up to 200 meters to be able to project your gaze even further.

A sound and light show

Another big new feature in this Audi Q6 e-tron is the sound experience. The brand with the rings has once again teamed up with Bang & Olufsen to offer a 3D audio system. In total, no less than 22 speakers placed throughout the cabin, even in the seats and even the headrests.

This auditory experience is completed by a light show, thanks to a thin strip of light which runs across the entire width of the dashboard, and even over the door buttresses. A light that responds to the different functions of the car through different kinematics and effects. Whether it allows you to visually materialize the charging level or even the indicator, it fully participates in the experience offered by this Q6 e-tron.

See you in early 2024

Highly anticipated, this Audi Q6 e-tron will obviously offer these different technologies through option packs which will increase the bill.

As a reminder, the Audi Q6 e-tron will be the first vehicle based on the new PPE platform, shared within the Volkswagen group with its cousin Porsche Macan. Audi is still keeping the suspense on everything related to the engine, therefore the power and autonomy of the model, but we already know that the platform makes it possible to offer NMC (Nickel – Manganese – Cobalt) batteries up to 100 kWh .

The 800 Volt architecture allows charging at high speeds: up to 270 kW on this Q6 e-tron. Enough to recover up to 250 km in 10 minutes on the appropriate terminal.

As Audi obviously likes to take care of its effects, you will have to wait a little longer to definitively discover everything that this Audi Q6 e-tron has to offer. Well, not too much either, since marketing has already been announced for February 2024.
