EKWB will help Intel owners. Abandoned equipment comes back to life
Where Intel has failed, enthusiasts come to the rescue. It looks like this is not the end of the unique Cryo project. Its continuation was announced by EKWB.
Intel is the world’s largest and most popular manufacturer of computer processors. Americans in 2020 together with partners (Cooler Master and EKWB) took to the workshop Peltier modules, providing ready-made All in One sets and special blocks for proprietary LC systems. The project was called Intel Cryo.
Cooling from EKWB costs approximately PLN 2,555
However, development of the project was discontinued on July 1, 2023, and security updates and bug fixes were released only until December 31, 2023. Most importantly, however – we didn’t see support for the 14th generation Intel Core family. Both consumers and the mentioned partners were dissatisfied with this fact.
However, EKWB said it would continue with Intel Cyro. All thanks to their latest EK-Quantum Delta² TEC kit and dedicated software. It supports not only 12th and 13th generation Intel Core processors, but also unlocked units Intel Raptor Lake Refresh such as:
- Intel Core i5-14600K
- Intel Core i5-14600KF
- Intel Core i7-14700K
- Intel Core i7-14700KF
- Intel Core i9-14900K
- Intel Core i9-14900KF
This is great news for enthusiasts, because Intel Cryo ensures phenomenally low temperatures even after OCwhich cannot be compared to AIO sets or proprietary cooling systems. However, the situation is worse when it comes to power consumption and prices. EK-Quantum Delta² TEC is priced at PLN 2,555.
