Correctly setting the lights in a car is a big problem on Polish roads. Every driver who drives after dark knows this. According to data, as many as 98 percent people experience blinding from other cars, and 40 percent complains that their lights are too dim.
In turn, according to data from vehicle inspection stations, as many as 4 out of 10 cars fail inspection due to lighting. Meanwhile, today (December 7) the police are starting mass inspections, which mean high fines for some drivers – reports Dziennik.pl.
Even 3 thousand PLN fine for traffic lights
According to experts, as much as 70 percent In some cases, the reason for dazzling other cars is illegal replacement of light bulbs. Drivers often decide to install the so-called retrofits, i.e. halogen bulbs made using LED technology. They are compatible with the H7 and H4 models often used in cars. However, they should not be used in headlights designed for use with regular halogen bulbs. Moreover, it is illegal in Poland.
For installing lights that do not comply with the car’s approval, the police may retain the registration certificate and even impose a fine of PLN 3,000. zloty. This is of course a limited amount, because it may as well be as little as PLN 20. However, the fact is that in such a case it will be necessary to remove the fault (in this case, replace the bulbs) and confirm this with a positive result at a vehicle inspection station.
