Donald Tusk won’t give you money. It’s a scam
Be careful what you click on the web. Government-looking websites promise compensation, but in reality they steal your data.
The Polish Financial Sector Computer Security Incident Response Team, better known as CSIRT KNFonce again draws the attention of Poles to a new threat on the Internet. This time, fraudsters are impersonating Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
You should always pay attention to the address in your browser
On fake websiteslooking like official government websites, compensation is promised in the amount of PLN 439.05. It is allegedly available to every household, and all you need to do is verify yourself with digital banking.
This is clearly a fraud, and cybercriminals only care about obtaining our bank login details. You should not select your bank there, and certainly not provide information such as login or password.

How to recognize fake sites? There are several ways. First of all you should pay attention to the address in the browser – government websites never operate on the IP address alone. It is also worth checking whether the site has an SSL certificate, by whom and for what entity – just click the padlock on the left.

It is also a good habit to careful reading of the page content. Cybercriminals often do not pay attention to the content and/or make language mistakes, as they are not Polish nationals. Either way nothing can replace common sense and the awareness that no one gives away money for free.
