Do you want to create games? In Poland this means naked fun with the boss
The Polish studio creating video games is once again being heard abroad. This time, however, we have no reason to be proud. These are very strange practices where you have to go to the sauna naked with your boss.
Poland is becoming more and more important on the video game development scene and is no longer known only for titles such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Whether Cyberpunk 2077. Our programmers, scriptwriters, musicians and graphic designers are appreciated abroad, and this is confirmed by the fact that Larian Studios opened its headquarters in Warsaw.
Spectrum Studios has a problem. They won’t get rid of this stench
However, in recent days, Polish and foreign gamedev has been focusing on the domestic studio Spectrum Studios rather for less flattering reasons. Poles are on everyone’s tongue after the news spread on social media required mandatory sauna sessions with the boss.
Adrian Chmielarz from the studio was the first to notice the unusual situation People Can Fly. He noticed an unusual job advertisement and comments on the LinkedIn platform. It’s all because of the point “Participation in sauna sessions (non-negotiable – entire team must understand the product)”.

Jacek Piórkowski from Spectrum Studios argues that their latest game is about a young woman with a broken heart who begins training to become a sauna master. And he has no intention of explaining the difference between specific types of sauna, and the studio wants to provide the most faithful experience possible.
When the matter became heated, a statement appeared where he noted that “there is no requirement to be naked in the sauna or be in it with your boss”. However, a few sentences later he himself recalls: “rules of proper sauna: use a dry towel or naked, in a sauna and steam room only naked”. After all, is it naked or not naked?

However, this is not the end of absurdities. Jacek Piórkowski also mentions that people interested in working at Spectrum Studios can contact Magdalena Kucenty, his “Narrative Mulan”. The only problem is that… Mrs. Magdalena doesn’t work for him. On the contrary – she was his mentor during the narrative design course.

Relax – this is still not the end of the matter. Piórkowski has been doing this for some time now he also preyed on artists and graphic designers in their groups, asking them about “samples of graphics depicting naked figures”. Relevant comments from Facebook were shared by Natalia “NathK” Wylezińska, artist and president of Digital Night.

What to think about all this? Everyone must answer this question for themselves. Personally, I think the situation is… crazy. To create a great game, movie or book, you don’t have to experience these things. That’s what specialist literature, photos and other media are for. After all, Techland didn’t need any zombies to create Dying Light, not to mention Steven Spielberg’s cinematic achievements.
