Do you have an Ulefone armored car? Over 20 models are getting updates

In the world of rugged smartphones and tablets, the lack of system updates is a serious problem. Sometimes there are minor patches, but usually armor users are quickly left with an aging Android, even without security patches.

Ulefone decided to break with this pattern. The manufacturer announced the start of a mass OTA update process to Android 15. It is not the latest version of the Google system, but it is better than nothing. What’s more, some of the models on the list already had this version, but now they are receiving an updated version with security fixes.

The biggest surprise – and at the same time a reason for satisfaction for users – is that older devices are covered by the update. Models such as Armor 21, Armor 22 and Armor 24, which debuted in 2023, will also receive Android 15. This applies to models that were launched with Android 14 and can now be updated to the newer version.

Ulefone emphasizes that adapting Android 15 to 2023 equipment required overcoming significant technical challenges. However, the goal was to ensure that the devices were not only physically durable, but also digitally resistant and modernized even three years after the premiere.

The update is intended to speed up application startup and reduce background energy consumption. It is optimized especially for powerful batteries in the Armor 24 and 27 series. The new software also includes new security patches and more advanced permissions control. Ulefone has also modernized the interface, introducing new multitasking possibilities.

Ulefone has provided a detailed list of models that are eligible for downloading the new system. The list is impressive and divided into several categories:

• Flagships: Armor 28 Ultra Thermal, Armor 28 Ultra, Armor 28 Pro.
• Thermal and compact series: Armor 27T Pro, Armor 27T, Armor 27 Pro, Armor 27, Armor 25T Pro, Armor 25T, as well as Armor Mini 20T Pro, 20 Pro and 20.
• ​A series of innovative models: Armor 33 Pro, Armor 30 Pro, Armor X32 Pro / X32, Armor X31 Pro / X31.
• Armored tablets: Armor Pad 4 Ultra Thermal, Armor Pad 4 Ultra.
• 2023 classics: Armor 24, Armor 22, Armor 21.

If you have one of the models listed, you can check for an update by going to Settings > System > System Update. It is worth remembering that the OTA process is carried out in stages so as not to overload the servers, so the notification may appear for some users with a slight delay.
