Diabelski telefon w Bielsku. Odebrał i ma nauczkę na całe życie

Devil’s phone in Bielsko. He answered it and learned a lesson for life

This story sounds unbelievable, but it really happened. It shows the increasing creativity, but also the ruthlessness of fraudsters. A 40-year-old resident of the district reported the case to the Bielsko police.

A 40-year-old resident of Bielsko fell victim to fraud

A man complained that he had been the victim of fraud. He was contacted by a supposed bank employee who simply lied to him. The caller, posing as a bank employee, reported that the man’s bank account had been hacked and that his money was at risk. Worse, someone had applied for a loan in his name. To protect his savings, the man can only do one thing – hand over his login details and prevent the consequences of the hack. The representative of the facility he promised to send the man a linkthrough which he will be able to cancel the unfortunate loan application.

But that was not the end of the deception. The fake employee instructed the man to take out a loan for the maximum amount to prevent the fraudsters from taking the money again. The 40-year-old followed the instructions and took out a loan from the bank for 81 thousand zlotys. However, the fraudster did not stop there. He instructed the man to deposit the money into a provided account to keep it safe.

When the victim becomes suspicious, the prosecutor steps in.

The man, however, began to suspect something and was not so willing to cooperate. And here came the turning point. Immediately he received a call from another person claiming to be a prosecutor. He threatened a resident of Bielsk County that for not completing the formalities and not transferring money to the specified account, he would be punished for misappropriating bank money. However, the resident did not let himself be intimidated and went to the bank branch in person to clarify the situation. There, on the spot, he learned that his account had been cleared and 16 thousand zlotys had disappeared. He immediately went to the police from the bank.

This is a warning to others to never give out passwords or logins over the phone, even to someone who claims to be a bank employee. The police remind us that fraudsters are capable of almost anything. They can even display the name of an institution such as a bank or the police on the victim’s phone. You should always be careful and verify the caller. Otherwise, you can pay dearly for it.
