Despite the wave of hate, the Polish film conquered the streaming giant

Angry Young Haters Hated After Cinema Premiere

The title of the film itself is slightly rebellious: “Fuck Mickiewicz”. This is nothing more than another version of “Young Angry”, but told with Polish realities in mind. A story about a controversial, yet very inspiring Polish teacher Jan Sienkiewicz (played by Dawid Ogrodnik), who became the homeroom teacher of the “worst” class in school. And as you can guess – he met his match.

The film is neither outstanding nor particularly original. What’s more, it sometimes seems a bit out of touch with reality, and Dialogues are often artificial and irritating. But overall the film is nice. Just a typical production about and for young people. Even the script itself is not original. It is a Polish version of a German youth comedy “Fack ju Gohte”. The students are rebellious, but not stupid at all – they organize rap battles during classes, get into discussions and quarrels. However, they write good essays for the drawer. In the film we will also find Gangster threadwhich was apparently intended to make the film more dynamic.

“Fuck Mickiewicz” could be seen in the cinema in January 2024. However, it was completely overshadowed by the premiere Mr. Kleks Academy and it went completely unnoticed. The reviews themselves were unfavorable and only the good cast was regretted. In April, the film hit Netflix. And so it began. The production did not leave the first place on the Polish list of the most watched films for a long time. The situation was similar in the world ranking. In the list of the most popular films of this year, “Fuck Mickiewicz” is unrivaled. It is chased only by Gru, Dru and Minions.

The creators of the film, after the success on the Netflix platform, have already announced a sequel to the film. Nothing but wait.
