When talking about computer processors, two manufacturers are most often mentioned – AMD and Intel. More recently, it has joined this group Apple and Qualcommbut these are ARM-based designs, not x86-based. However, all of these companies have one thing in common – they are American.
Intel offered this performance in 2007
This, of course, does not please China, which is trying to become independent from Western technologies. Especially in the face of numerous sanctions from the US. The solution is to be provided by domestic CPU and GPU manufacturers. And it so happens that the processor of one of them is now available for general sale.
Laptop Lenovo X1 in the version with a processor Zhaoxin KG-6000G has just debuted in China. This is a proposition 4-core and 4-thread with timing up to 3.3 GHz made in the already ancient 16 nm lithography. This is complemented by 4 MB of L2 memory and a graphics system that supports DirectX 12, OpenCL 1.2 and OpenGL 4.6.

The Chinese do not reveal the full specifications. However, they boast a compact casing with a thickness of 13.9 millimeters and weighing 990 grams. The matrix used is the solution OLED with a resolution of 2.8K, and the keyboard has a backlight. In addition, you should expect SSD and memory DDR4 RAM.

Previously available results in the Geekbench database reveal that Zhaoxin KG-6000G offers performance like Intel or AMD 11-14 years ago. We are talking about 397 points for the single-threaded test and 1035 points for the multi-threaded one. For comparison Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 from 2007 scores approximately 331/1033 points.
The suggested price remains unknown, but it doesn’t matter – the described laptop will not be sold outside China. And there’s probably nothing to cry about, because that’s it the proposition was already outdated on the day of its premiere. Nevertheless, this is proof that China is able to offer original (but weak) solutions.
