Change in Biedronki. Don’t be surprised when you receive a request for payment

Biedronka is changing the rules on parking lots in front of its stores. No more parking meters. This does not mean that we will not pay for leaving the car too long. On the contrary. The fee still applies and avoiding it may result in a payment request.

Biedronka changes parking rules

There were parking meters under some Biedronka stores. There was no need to pay for parking for up to 90 minutes, which is more than enough to make purchases in a discount store. Beyond this time, a fee was required.

This was the store’s way of dealing with recalcitrant drivers who used parking spaces to leave their cars for long hours or overnight. However, ticket machines began to disappear. This does not mean that you no longer have to pay for parking at Biedronka.

Now Biedronka is replacing parking meters with a camera-based system. They record the driver’s entry and exit time. If a person exceeds the agreed time of 90 minutes, he or she must pay for parking. For this purpose, QR codes are available which you can use to pay the fee.

What if someone doesn’t pay? In such a case, the parking operator sends a payment request by letter. A given person’s data can be obtained from CEPiK by submitting an appropriate application. For this purpose, the car’s registration number is sufficient. So don’t be surprised if such a letter lands in your mailbox.

However, there is a problem with the system based on cameras and QR codes. Firstly, it assumes that everyone has a smartphone and can pay using it. This may exclude older drivers who are not as familiar with new technologies. Secondly, QR codes are a breeding ground for fraudsters. All you need to do is replace them with your own to profit from it.
