One Reddit user described a very unusual situation. He recently purchased a new AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor. However, it broke down after just a few days. The chip simply burned down and damaged the motherboard. Or the board damaged the processor.

How did this happen? Unfortunately, we don’t know. Reddit user TrumpPooPoosPants only reported that he received postcode “00”. After checking, it turned out that the processor and its socket on the motherboard were burned out. Clearly, some unforeseen situation occurred, e.g. too high voltage was applied to the pins.
It is not known what caused the failure. Some Reddit users point out that the pins in the processor socket are bent. If they were like this before the failure, this may actually be the reason for the failure. However, it cannot be ruled out that they were bent only as a result of burning, so it is difficult to make a clear diagnosis.

However, the most important fact is that this is a single example that proves absolutely nothing. There is no question of mass failures and serious problems of Ryzen 9000X3D processors. Users should not have any concerns about the new layouts.
