British bank disappears from Poland. 1.6 thousand employees out of work

Project closed, work finished
The decision to close the business has been made after completing the project on which the bank’s team worked. It concerned financial crimes, specifically verifying customers’ identity and analyzing their financial credibility and compliance with regulations. The bank’s entire staff will lose their jobs, with 45% of these roles disappearing for good and the rest being transferred to branches in other countries.
Nat West chief executive Paul Thwaite confirmed that the bank aims to become more efficient and simpler. Moreover, the company is preparing for privatization for the first time since the crisis in 2008. Due to the British elections on July 4, the sale of shares by the government was delayed.
