Blik z wyczekiwaną nowością. Ponad 1 mln Polaków odczuwalnie skorzysta

Blik with the long-awaited new product. More than 1 million Poles will benefit significantly

Cashless.pl asked the Polish Payment Standard about the chances of using contactless Blik for iPhone users. We have good news.

Apple has opened up to external platforms

Apple's change in approach has become a gateway for wider use of NFC technology in the manufacturer's smartphones. Developers gained new documentation and access to the API enabling control of the NFC module. So far, banks have made their card payments available only via Apple Paynow the platform also enables financial institutions to introduce their own solutions.

Work on contactless Blik for iPhones is already underway

Although the Polish Payment Standard did not inform cashless.pl about the implementation date of the new service, it confirmed that work on it is ongoing. However, it remains an open question whether whether iPhone users will be interested in the service at all. Contactless Blik for Android devices is currently offered by banks such as Alior, ING, mBank, Millennium, PKO BP and Santander, the reach of Apple Pay is even wider.

Apple's phone customers are very attractive to financial institutions. Statistics show that they buy via phones much more often than Android users, and despite their smaller market share, the value of iPhone transactions can exceed the total value of purchases by Android users. And these are not statistics from overseas, these types of numbers are also reported by Polish e-commerce platforms.
