BLIK goes abroad. Customers of a large bank with the application

BLIK has just taken another step forward. The plans have become a fact. The payment operator has integrated with one of the largest banks in Slovakia.

Blik, a popular payment method in Poland, is expanding its operations in Slovakia. After Blik acquired the local company VIAMO in 2023, it’s time for the next step. The payment operator is currently launching integration with one of the largest Slovak banks, Tatra bank.

I see the new BLIK payment feature as a welcome extension of payment methods. It is a breakthrough solution that allows our customers to pay for online purchases even more easily than before. Of course, while maintaining a high level of security.

– announced Lukáš Mochňák, director of the mobile applications department at Tatra banka.

The innovative element of this cooperation is also highlighted by BLIK CEO Dariusz Mazurkiewicz. He points out that entering Slovakia is not only an expansion of operations to our southern neighbors. It is a test on a much larger scale, as it allows the operator to test the operation of the BLIK service in the euro zone.

Cooperation with Tatra banka is an important step towards further activities on the Slovak market and in Europe. The BLIK offer, introduced in Slovakia, is a scalable solution in the entire euro zone. Currently, implementation work is underway with other market participants to jointly achieve our ambitious goals.

– emphasizes Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, CEO of Polish Payment Standard, the BLIK operator.

Tatra bank is the third largest bank in Slovakia. Founded in 1990, the bank with headquarters in Bratislava has been a member of the international group Raiffeisen International for several years. In 2023, Tatra won the award for the most innovative bank in Central and Eastern Europe according to the monthly Global Finance.
