The Act on Electromobility and Alternative Fuels requires the installation of an electric car charging station in front of every commercial building with at least 20 parking spaces. This means that electric chargers should appear in front of every larger store, including Biedronka and Lidl. The changes enter into force on January 1, 2025. Both store chains are already preparing for this – informs dlahandlu.pl.

Biedronka and Lidl are installing chargers

Both Biedronka and Lidl have been installing electric car charging stations in their parking lots for some time now. The network with an insect in its logo cooperates with Powerdot. By the end of this year, as many as 600 chargers are to be installed at Biedronka stores throughout Poland.

These have a power of 120 kW, which allows you to quickly replenish energy in the car. There are also three connectors available: CCS, ChaDemo and Type 2. The network also allows three forms of payment: card, QR code or RFiD card while roaming. There is no need to create an account or pay a subscription.

Lidl approaches the matter similarly. The chain already has chargers for electric cars in at least 60 points throughout Poland, but by the end of 2025 they are to appear in every store, and there are over 900 of them. Depending on the location, they offer three connectors (AC Type 2, DC CCS, DC CHAdeMO), two connectors (DC CCS, DC CHAdeMO) or one connector (AC Type 2).

However, store customers need to know about a very important issue. Only electric cars can be parked in parking spaces with charging stations. If you fail to comply with this requirement, you may receive a fine of up to PLN 3,000. zloty.
