Białystok. The 17-year-old wanted to make a quick buck and now he faces 8 years in prison

There can be many ideas for making quick money. A 17-year-old from Białystok came up with an unusual idea to raise specific amounts of money. The police are investigating the case, and the court will decide the fate of the minor.

A teenager from Białystok may face up to 8 years in prison for committing financial fraud. The 17-year-old came up with a way to make a quick profit and used Blik to do so. He withdrew criminal proceeds from an ATM and received a certain percentage of the money in return.

At the end of September, officers from Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki asked the police in Białystok for help in catching the criminal. They discovered that there was someone on their premises who was cheating on Blik. Here is an example of such a scam:

A resident of Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki received a message on social media with information about the need to borrow money. However, as it turned out, the whole thing was a fraudster impersonating her friend. The woman, thinking that she was texting with a friend, sent a Blik code to withdraw PLN 500. After reporting the case, officers from Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki determined that the money from this fraud had just been withdrawn from an ATM in Białystok.

– reports the spokeswoman of the municipal police commander in Białystok, Senior Asp. Katarzyna Molska-Zarzecka.

Surveillance data was immediately reviewed, based on which investigators were able to determine the identity of the teenager withdrawing the money. The boy was detained in the apartment. The minor was also charged with committing a crime, and the entire case is currently under investigation. The 17-year-old has a case pending in court.
