BBC’s Big Hit on Netflix. Watch it in One Breath
Mysteries are something that most viewers love. Netflix knows this very well, and has recently expanded its offer with a rather original crime series. “Przewodnik po zbrodni według dobrzeńskiej dziewczyna” is already the 1st most watched series in Poland.
Netflix provides a wide range of services to its subscribers. Recently, the platform debuted 7 seasons of the iconic Mad Mennow it’s time for a quite successful crime miniseries. A Good Girl’s Guide to Crimebecause it is the production based on the bestselling novel by Holli Jackson, from the new adult genre. It must be admitted that the title itself is quite long and twisted, difficult to remember and does not really herald a hit at all. Meanwhile, the series, although intended for older youth, is watched in one breath. And the fate of an innocent high school girl trying to solve a murder mystery is memorable.
It’s nothing more than a story about a teenager, Pip (played by Emma Myers known from the series Wednesday), who chose a mystery from years ago as the topic of her term paper. She investigates on her own and tries to solve who killed her older friend. Over time, Pip learns from her own experience that the story of Andie Bell’s disappearance has more and more holes, and she herself is in more and more danger. It has a bit of a Twin Peaks vibe. It may not be an outstanding series, but it’s fun to watch. All these secrets, a multitude of plots and surprising plot twists make the series an undisguised pleasure to watch. Perfect for summer evenings.
The young actors cast in the main roles did very well. The series is available on the BBC Player platform and on Netflix, where six episodes have been released, which make up the first season of the production. Since the novel has three volumes in the cycle, we can hope that a continuation of the series will be created.
