ASUS is falling apart. The warranty goes to the gate and we still don’t know each other
This is another case where ASUS is accused of failure to fulfill warranty. Similar stories about this manufacturer regularly appear on the Internet. In the past, users reported, among others: about demands for payment amounting to thousands of dollars for the repair of a graphics card or about complete rejection of claims due to minor visual damage that had no impact on the operation of the equipment.
ASUS has done this many times in the past
The latest case was publicized by a Reddit user nicknamed “MoumousMeow”. According to his account The Taiwanese sent the motherboard back without any repairsclaiming that the customer did not decide to provide the service. In the shared screenshot, you can see an annotation suggesting that the board does not start and does not respond to power supplybut nevertheless no components have been replaced.
Importantly, earlier the company was to offer repair of minor cosmetic damage for $45 (approx. PLN 159). The customer refused, expecting the actual motherboard fault to be repaired. It was this decision that could have resulted in the refusal to continue service.
The user’s frustration is so great that he directly admitted that the very sight of the ASUS logo disgusts him. He also announced the sale of his ROG Ally because, as he claims, he is fed up with such treatment.
This is unfortunately nothing new. ASUS has rejected RMA requests in the past due to minor scratches or signs of use. Theoretically, after loud criticism from the media the company then released a statementin which she promised improvement. Recent history, however, suggests that little has changed in practice. This is another example of why you should think twice before choosing a specific manufacturer.
