The Apple Vision Pro augmented reality headset was not a great success. This was certainly due to the very high price, but sales amounted to PLN 500,000. copies since February, however, is a big disappointment. Moreover, their users – according to internal data of the Cupertino company – use them less and less often. How to fix it? By reporting to Sony.
Sony to the rescue of Apple
Apple is to look for ways to improve the sales results of the Vision Pro goggles. One idea is to offer game controllers as an optional accessory. That’s why the Cupertino company contacted Sony, which has much more experience in this matter.
The cooperation between the two companies has apparently been going on for several months and will result in support for PlayStation VR2 controllers on Apple Vision Pro goggles. It is not known when exactly this will happen, but unofficially it is said that the controllers would be sold in the Apple store.
Will this be enough for Vision Pro to start selling better? It’s hard to say. Operating the goggles using dedicated controllers would certainly be a big help. However, the problem is still the very high price and generally the sense of using goggles, which are referred to as a head-mounted computer. Sure, it’s a nice gadget, but in general, many things are more convenient to do on a traditional computer.
