Apple can shake things up. It uses Google technology
According to information released this week by Apple, it is using Google’s infrastructure to build its artificial intelligence.
Apple uses Google technology in its own artificial intelligence
There would be nothing strange about it, if it weren’t for the fact that it’s Nvidia creates the most desirable processors at the momentcontrolling as much as 80% of this market. Its products are used by, among others, Amazon, and even Google itself. The fact that a giant like Apple does not have to use devices created by Nvidia can cause a lot of confusion on the processor market.
Apple did not explicitly reveal that it did not use Nvidia processors at all. It only boasted that the development of its own artificial intelligence language models is based on two types of Google processors organized into large clusters of integrated circuits. Apple’s model, created primarily for iPhones, uses 2,048 TPUv5p chips. In its own AI server, Apple has implemented 8,192 TPUv4 processors.
The main difference between Nvidia and Google is the fact that the former sells its processors as separate products. Google, on the other hand, offers its services only within the Google Cloud Platform.
Neither Google nor Nvidia have commented on Apple’s publication.
