Apocalyptic spectacle over New York. NASA explains
A huge fireball was observed over New York City. The phenomenon was captured on numerous videos.
Most of us are used to seeing fireballs and other (more or less) natural disasters that befall New York City due to the fascination that Hollywood holds for the city. This time, however, we had the opportunity to see it live mysterious objects burning in the air over an American metropolis.
Fireball over New York
As reported NASAa meteor appeared in the American sky on Tuesday approx. 11:17 local time. It was first observed over New York City, where it was moving at a speed of more than 61,000 km/h towards New Jersey.
The object had approx. 30 cm in diameter and burned up in the atmosphere. The phenomenon itself was spectacular, however. The fireball could be seen during the day and with the naked eye. It was also captured on numerous video recordings.
It is worth emphasizing that the New York meteor posed no threat to Earth or its inhabitants. It is estimated that each year about 25 million space objects enter the Earth’s atmosphere, but most of them never even reach the planet’s surface.
