Antec enters the game console market. It looks good
Competition in the handheld market is intensifying. Antec and AYANEO are establishing cooperation, and the “new” console will soon be available for sale in the West.
Antec is a company that certainly needs no introduction to older Telepolis readers. Although the Taiwanese have been rather quiet in recent years, they have been present on the market for a long time since 1986. In the past, they were known, among others: from very solid cases and computer power supplies.
The Taiwanese console will benefit from a strong AMD system
Currently, their offer also includes CPU coolers, fans, RAM modules and a number of accessories such as graphics card brackets and additional PSU cabling. And soon it will join the Taiwanese manufacturer's portfolio portable game console with AMD chip on board.
Antec and AYANEO officially started cooperation, and its result is to be a handheld called “Core HS“We are talking about a model based on the one released at the end of last year AYANEO Slide. That is, the construction of sliding 6-inch screen with Full HD and hidden resolution, built-in QWERTY keyboard.
The heart of the device is the processor AMD Ryzen 7 7840U equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads clocked up to 5.1 GHz and an integrated graphics chip with 12 CU. It completes the whole thing from 16 to 64 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and M.2 2280 semiconductor media with capacity from 512 GB to 4 TB.

Unless Antec makes any significant modifications, the console should be sized 226 x 90 x 38 millimeters and mass 650 grams. And the built-in battery is a 46.2 Wh solution. The whole thing works under the control of the Microsoft operating system Windows 11.
The release date has not been revealed, but with a high degree of probability Antec Core HS will be shown at the beginning of June at the fair. Computex 2024. As for the price, again there are no details. But the original, AYANEO Slide, cost money from $899 to $1,599 and it will probably be similar here.
