Ważna zmiana w badaniach technicznych samochodów. To musisz wiedzieć

An important change in technical inspections of cars. This is what you need to know

An important change in technical inspections of cars has been in force in Poland since June. This is worth knowing.

From June 1, new regulations regarding technical inspections of vehicles come into force in Poland. Some drivers may be surprised. Fortunately, it is not about a price increase, although this is probably inevitable in the near future.

Car inspection and new regulations

The most important name concerns registration certificates. Until now, if a car did not pass the technical inspection, the diagnostician was obliged to confiscate the registration certificate. That won't be the case now. The physical document will remain with us, but at the same time a record of virtual confiscation of the ID will be added to the Central Vehicle Register. In the event of a police check, this will have the same effect as no physical evidence.

What to do in such a case? A negative result of the technical inspection means not only the virtual confiscation of your ID, but also the issuance of a certificate authorizing you to drive on the road for 14 days. This is supposed to be the appropriate time to remove the fault and proceed to the next technical inspection. In this case, checking each element costs PLN 21.

Your vehicle registration certificate may be confiscated due to serious defects that pose a direct threat to road safety. Moreover, the diagnostician may make the same decision due to damaged, illegible or incorrect license plates.
