AMD Ryzen 9000 on the horizon. Another manufacturer confirms readiness

It looks like AMD is getting ready to premiere Ryzen 9000 processors. Another large motherboard manufacturer has released an update for its motherboards.

The first models in the family AMD Ryzen 7000 debuted on the market at the end of 2022. And although these are still extremely efficient processors, many people are already waiting for a refresh of the offer. And it looks like new units from Red are already on the horizon, as a third manufacturer has confirmed their readiness since their premiere.

GIGABYTE joins companies such as ASUS and MSI

GIGABYTE has released a new beta BIOS for its z motherboards AMD X670, B650 and A620 chipsets. It contains an update AGESA 1.1.7.0which introduces family service AMD Ryzen 9000. According to the Taiwanese, the official version of the software will be ready in mid-May.

There are several ways to update the BIOS – manually from the UEFI level, through a dedicated connector on the motherboard and the Q-Flash button, or from the operating system and the Gigabyte Control Center program. Of course, as usual surgery carries some risks and may end up damaging your PC.

It is assumed that AMD will present the Ryzen 9000 series in early Juneduring the fair Computex 2024 in Taiwan. This is more than likely considering ASUS and MSI have released similar updates.

The new processors are supposed to use AMD Zen5 architecture and socket AM5. The rest is still guesswork, but there are rumors about IPC increase by 15% and using new TSMC lithography. The latter could mean higher clocks. There was also information about increasing the maximum number of cores from 16 to 32.
