CES 2025 will be full of new products. Most gamers are certainly looking forward to the new GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards. However, AMD will also have its premieres. These will include the new Ryzen 9000X3D processors.
Two new Ryzen 9000X3D processors
In Las Vegas, AMD is to present two more processors from the Ryzen 9000X3D series, i.e. models equipped with 3D V-Cache memory. Speech and 16- and 12-core unit. It is almost certainly about Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3Dso in theory the designs are even stronger than the current top Ryzen 9 9800X3D.
Ryzen 9 9950X3D is to offer 16 cores and 32 threads support. It will be equipped with a total of 128 MB of level three cache and 16 MB of level two cache. Ryzen 9 9900X3D will have fewer cores (12 instead of 16) and a smaller amount of L2 cache (12 MB instead of 16 MB). It is not known yet what clock speeds they will have, but – like other models in this series – they should support overclocking.
The question is – will these models actually be faster than Ryzen 9 9800X3D? In theory, this should be the case, but the example of the Ryzen 7000X3D series showed that in practice this is not always the case. Performance differences when it came to gaming were either non-existent or minimal. Moreover, they were often in favor of the theoretically weaker processor.
