AMD confirms two new processors. They will be out of stock
The premiere of cheap AMD processors is fast approaching. Two new models have already been added to the manufacturer's website, revealing their full specifications.
In March during an event AIPC Innovation Summit in Beijing (China), AMD revealed its strategy to offer processors in every price segment. It was then that two new models were also revealed – Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400Fintended for motherboards with AM5 socket.
Both new processors will be unlocked and ready for OC
However, so far there has been a lack of specifics, except for one thing a short and unofficial test. Fortunately, Red has now added both mentioned CPUs to their website, confirming their specifications. They use architecture AMD Zen4 and were made in 4nm lithography from TSMC.
AMD Ryzen 7 8700F equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads with a base clock of 4.1 GHz i up to 5 GHz in boost mode. This has been supplemented with 8 MB of Cache L2 and 16 MB of L3, all at TDP 65 W.
AMD Ryzen 5 8400F uses 6 cores and 12 threads with a base clock of 4.2 GHz i up to 4.7 GHz in boost mode. Here we get 6 MB of L2 cache and 16 MB of L3, and the TDP is again 65 W.
It must be emphasized that both described processors do not have integrated graphics units (iGPU) or NPU units to accelerate calculations in artificial intelligence tasks. Therefore, people interested in purchasing them must already have a dedicated graphics card.
Unfortunately, AMD has not yet revealed the suggested prices for Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F, and they will be key when assessing this product. Anyway it should be cheaper than in the case of “ordinary” CPUs, which will benefit consumers. Reds will get rid of missing cores.
