A treat for AMD fans. An extremely cheap motherboard is coming
If you are building a new computer set and wanted to use an AMD processor, we have good news. BIOSTAR has prepared a cheap motherboard with an AM5 socket.
In September 2022, the processor family debuted on the market AMD Ryzen 7000. Although with a year’s delay, just like Intel, we got support for standards such as PCI Express 5.0 and DDR5 RAM. However, this required the use of new socket motherboards AMD AM5.
BIOSTAR A620MS will cost approximately PLN 359
It cannot be denied that newer platforms are noticeably more expensive than older generations (including Intel). Fortunately, some manufacturers still try to offer affordable motherboards that are perfect for office computers or cheaper PCs for gaming and work. One of them is Taiwanese BIOSTAR.
BIOSTAR A620MS is a format motherboard Micro ATXwhich was created for AMD Ryzen 7000 and 8000 processors. Here we get two slots for DDR5 RAM (up to 96 GB and 6000 MHz), one PCIe 4.0 x16 and one PCIe 3.0 x1. Four SATA III and one M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 are provided for data carriers.
The Taiwanese decided to use a sound codec Realtek ALC897 and a gigabit network controller Realtek RTL8111H. These are quite old solutions, but they should be sufficient for everyday use.
The I/O panel itself is also quite simple and includes one HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.2 connector, four USB 3.2 Gen 1, two USB 2.0, RJ-45, audio connectors and a “Smart BIOS Update” button.
BIOSTAR A620MS will go on sale in the coming weeks, the suggested price should be approximately PLN 359. So it will be one of the cheapest motherboards for AMD Ryzen 7000 processors on the market.
