a surprise on the storage… but maybe also on the price

The German site WinFuture has managed to get its hands on information allowing you to discover in advance the storage capacities offered by the future Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro… the price of which could increase slightly.

The technical specifications of the future Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are becoming more and more precise over the leaks and other rumors (largely substantiated at this stage). Today, the German site WinFuture nevertheless sheds light on one of the last gray areas of future Google flagships: their storage capacity.

According to sources from journalist Roland Quandt at some retailers, the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro would each have 128 or 256 GB of internal storage depending on the option chosen. This modest storage capacity compared to some competitors would have a specific objective: to allow Google to continue to offer its two high-end devices at a reasonable price, and thus boost sales as much as possible in a delicate economic context.

WinFuture nevertheless mentions a slight price increase compared to the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, but does not yet give us a precise price range immediately. As a reminder, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are positioned between 650 and 900 euros.

Towards a 512 GB option for the Pixel 8 Pro?

But surprise, we learn on the other hand that a 512 GB option would still be offered, but only on the Pixel 8 Pro (against 256 GB maximum on the current Pixel 7 Pro). These details were shared by a source who had previously accurately informed WinFuture on the past. We can therefore consider this information to be reliable… if not formalized.

Note also that the Pixel 8 Pro would also be equipped with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM manufactured by Samsung, and that its internal memory would be signed SKHynix, as suggested by a photo shared on Reddit and relayed by WinFuture.

The source of the specialized site finally informs us about the colors planned for the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. We discover in particular that the smaller of the two models would be available in three shades, baptized: “Licorice”, “Peony” and “Haze”. Same approach for the Pro model, with three colors there too: “Licorice”, “Porcelain” and “Sky”.
