A retro gaming fan’s dream. Ayaneo Pocket S Mini is tempting, but it is not cheap
So far, Ayaneo launches have often been associated with long waits for crowdfunding orders to be fulfilled. This time the manufacturer is changing its strategy. Ayaneo Pocket S Mini goes straight to regular sale, though it’s not cheap.
Small screen, powerful interior
The Ayaneo novelty immediately attracts attention with the use of high-end materials. The entire front of the device is covered with a sheet of glassand the frame was made of metal using a CNC process. The console weighs approximately 305 g and is 18.5 mm thick.
The image is displayed on the screen LCD with a diagonal of 4.2 inches and a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels. The 4:3 aspect ratio is a nod to lovers of classic games, allowing you to avoid black bars or image stretching.
The heart of the console is the layout Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 (4nm) with GPU Adreno A32 supported by active cooling, RAM in the LPDDR5X standard (up to 16 GB) and fast UFS 4.0 data memory (up to 512 GB). This configuration will allow not only the emulation of demanding systems, but also the running of native Android games at the highest settings.
They are responsible for the control hall effect analog sticks and RGB backlight, linear triggers with Hall effect, six-axis gyroscope and crystal ABXY buttons and D-pad with conductive rubber.
The console is working under the control of Android 14 with the manufacturer’s overlay (AyaSpace, AyaHome), and security is ensured by a fingerprint reader built into the power button. The 6000 mAh battery supports PD fast charging.
Prices and availability
Ayaneo Pocket S Mini is now available in the manufacturer’s official store in Ice Soul White, Obsidian Black and a special Retro Power version.
Pre-sale prices (valid until the end of February) are as follows:
- 8 GB RAM + 128 GB: USD 319 (approx. PLN 1,135 excluding VAT),
- 12 GB RAM + 256 GB: USD 399 (approx. PLN 1,420 excluding VAT),
- 16 GB RAM + 512 GB (Retro Power version): USD 479 (approx. PLN 1,700 excluding VAT).
After February prices will increase by USD 80 (PLN 280) for each variant. Early Bird pre-orderers will receive a set of accessories, including a case and joystick covers.
