Fake emails – a new wave

Fraudsters are not idle and are still persistent in impersonating banks. And their goal is one – they want to extort personal data and access to the account. BNP Paribas in the latest announcement reported that in recent weeks, more and more people have been receiving fake e-mails titled “Important security information”. These messages are dangerous because they look as if the sender was BNP Paribas. They inform about the need to transfer their data to the new security system.

What not to do after receiving such an email?

The bank advises you not to respond to this type of message under any circumstances. Please do not fill out any attached forms or leave any data in them. We should also not click on links included in the content of this type of messages.

BNP Paribas also gives some valuable advice to avoid data and money fraud:

  1. Let’s check the senders’ addresses this type of e-mails, especially in cases where the content makes us slightly concerned or when they contain any attachments.
  2. Let’s also remember that Paribas bank never sends e-mails to its clientswhich asks you to provide your data.
