A car with a record range. Over 2,000 km without refueling
The Japanese manufacturer has announced a new version of its flagship model, which will appear in Poland in 2026. What is most surprising is the driving range without refueling.
Toyota has announced a new version of its flagship Corrolla model. Japanese car manufacturer surprised with the driving range without refueling, thanks to the use of the new version of the plug-in drivecreated in cooperation with Chinese electric car manufacturer BYD.
According to information provided by Toyota Version 13 of Corrolia will hit the market in 2026. It will be available in several versions. Fans of the classic hybrid will have a choice of a 1.5-horsepower HEV engine. A new addition will be the 1.5 Turbo plug-in hybrid version. The new Corrolla also has a refreshed design. A higher hood, better aerodynamics and a more streamlined shape are not only supposed to give a new look but also allow for savings while driving.
2100 km without refueling
Exactly fuel economy is to be the main distinguishing feature of the new Toyota. All thanks to the cooperation with the Chinese giant BYD that began in 2020. (BYD, or “Build Your Dreams”) became known in Europe during the last European Football Championship, of which it was the official sponsor.
Together with the Chinese company, Toyota has built a completely new version of the plug-in drive, which, thanks to the use of DM technology and a large Blade battery (10 or 15.9 kWh), provides record ranges.
BYD technology includes a combustion engine and up to two additional electric engines. The main task of the combustion unit is to charge the available electric units. Of course, it still has the ability to support the driving itself if necessary. This set makes the vast majority of driving practically like in an electric car. Thus, fuel consumption drops to even 2.9 liters per 100 kilometers. This combination allows you to travel up to 2,100 km without having to refuel.
The new 13th generation Corrolla is scheduled to arrive in Poland in 2026. Then we will see whether it really allows for such large ranges as, for example, driving without having to refuel on holiday in Croatia or skiing in Austria.
