Honor is launching its Honor 90 series today, with a model of the same name as well as a cheaper model, the Honor 90 Lite. Overview of what the brand’s new flagship will offer in its numbered series.
Last year the Honor 70 was released in France: located in the mid-range, it had a lot of competition and did quite well. If the Honor 80 was released in China, it did not come to us. It was only a postponement since the brand returns with the Honor 90 and the Honor 90 Lite. Let’s look at the first model.
An Honor 90 with a promising 200 Mpx sensor
What we immediately notice on the technical sheet of this Honor smartphone is its main sensor: it is a 200 Mpx photo sensor (f / 1.9). Enough to promise well-defined shots, full of details, even taken from afar, and with brighter night photos.
On the video side, we have enough to film in 4K. The multi-video mode, allowing filming both front and rear, is still present. On the other side in selfie, it is a 50 Mpx camera that we find with a viewing angle of 100°.
The manufacturer also highlights the portrait mode of the main sensor. For the first time, we are entitled to it in x1 (23 mm equivalent) and x2 (46 mm equivalent). The photo is supported by a 12 Mpx ultra-wide-angle sensor (f / 2.2, 112 °), which also allows macro photography from 2.5 cm away, compared to 3.5 cm last year. Finally, there is a 2 Mpx depth of field sensor (f / 2.4) on the Honor 90.
A 120 Hz AMOLED screen that sends heavy
The left and right sides of the smartphone are slightly curved, of the type “ overflowing swimming pool », as usual on the brand’s major series. With a classic 6.7-inch diagonal, it has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, but also and above all a maximum brightness of 1600 cd / m². This promises good brightness even in direct sunlight, in order to read easily on the Honor 90. The manufacturer announces 100% coverage of DCI-P3 as well as a resolution of 435 dpi.
To power everything, we have a 5000 mAh battery, which can be recharged at a maximum power of 66 W. On the hardware side, we find a SoC Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 from Qualcomm engraved in 4 nm, 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of storage. The Honor 90 comes with Android 13 and the MagicOS 7.1 interface.
