Industrial scale of fraud

Officers of the Department for Combating Economic Crime from Wrocław arrested him on March 18 42-year-old man and 44-year-old woman. The couple were busy extorting expensive electronic equipment. Their main goal was flagship smartphone models offered by operators.

The criminals acted together and in concert. They used it for this purpose counterfeit identity documents. Fraudsters have always concluded distance contracts and then collected ordered shipments of valuable electronics based on falsified data.

Printers, hundreds of pieces of evidence and drugs

During the searches, the police seized huge amounts of physical evidence. Found over 400 counterfeit Polish ID cards. Some of them were original forms previously reported by the owners as lost. The services also took over two specialized printers used to produce counterfeits.

High losses and arrest

The activities of the criminal couple hit directly telecommunications companies and entities conducting mail order sales. The losses incurred by these companies were estimated at an amount not less than PLN 340 thousand. The services emphasize that the value of the property lost in this case may ultimately be assessed as significant.

The detainees have already heard charges of fraud and possession of narcotic drugs. The District Court for Wrocław Fabryczna decided to apply temporary arrest to the 42-year-old. In turn, a 44-year-old woman was placed under police surveillance. Both suspects are now facing charges for their crimes penalty up to 10 years imprisonment.
