Fraudsters have developed several reliable methods and continue to oppress honest Poles. More and more often, without the slightest scruples, they intercept calls from real bank employees and “extort” every penny.
Fraudsters can impersonate bank employees, but they can also intercept calls from bank employees and confirm transactions on your behalf.
When the bank detects it in your account suspicious transactionit is very likely that his employee will call you. Fraudsters make every effort to intercept these types of calls. They use a completely new method – they redirect the conversation so that they can confirm the transaction.
What should you pay special attention to so as not to be deceived?
Nest Bank reminds you that there are ways to avoid being manipulated in this way and, most importantly, they are not complicated. Here’s when your warning light should come on:
- If someone is trying to convince you to download and install an app for remote access to your device.
- When a person pretending to be a bank employee calls you and asks for… entering a special code on the smartphone keyboard (this code is usually dictated during the conversation).
- When a “bank employee” tries to persuade you to “secure your account” or “call the bank’s hotline” during the conversation.
Nest Bank ensures that its employees who call customers can confirm your identity only in the mobile application. Customers can feel free to use this method credibility interlocutors – they can also ask for this option at any time during the conversation. And if you have any doubts about the authenticity of the interlocutor, hang up and call the hotline yourself.
