Have you dreamed of Ambilight on your TV? There are now new options

In 2023, Philips has decided to remove Ambilight integration with Hue lights. It seemed then that this was only a negative change, because nothing was offered in return. But now it’s changing because Philips has introduced technology AmbiScapewhich is to cooperate with Philips Hueas well as lighting from Wiz, Nanoleaf and Ikea. AmbiScape is intended to provide Ambilight functionality with delays lower than 0.5 seconds, all thanks to the Matter protocol connection.

It is worth noting that AmbiScape does not replace Ambilight – only enriches it. This technology will be from 2026 available on all Philips TVs from the 8 series and above. It was also tested on several 2025 models, but it is not known whether they will eventually receive them.

Thanks to AmbiScape it will be possible synchronize other types of light located further away from the TVso that they also match the colors of the displayed image.

The new function can be activated using the remote control or by selecting the appropriate option from the Ambilight menu in the TV settings. They will be available movie modes (subtle accent lighting) i musical (synchronization with the rhythm). Initially they will be supported E27 bulbs the above-mentioned manufacturers, and their wireless pairing will be possible using QR codes on the screen.
