Therefore, it is difficult to complain about the low usability of the equipment in the event of an evacuation, other crisis situations, or even while camping or fishing. Biedronka has protected itself against this very well. However, you can complain about the equipment itself, because who can stop us?

Let’s start with the title item, the backpack. It is a 35-liter design full of pockets, compartments and drawstrings. And by the way, it is the most expensive and valuable element. So is it worth buying in itself? Honestly, if I were looking for a backpack under PLN 100, I would choose a proven design. I have been using the immortal Quechua Arpenaz NH100 for many years, which you can buy for about PLN 60. It is comfortable, roomy, durable and looks like an ordinary city backpack, not part of an expedition to the heart of the Amazon jungle. It is also much cheaper.

There are people for whom a knife-spoon-fork with a set of openers is a dream come true. For me, though, it’s something that can do everything but doesn’t do anything well. I still understand this type of titanium constructions in ultra light tourist sets for people for whom every unnecessary gram in their backpack is a personal failure.

However, if you want to take cutlery with you, then… take the ones you have in the kitchen. They will work much better both during evacuation and while camping. This set takes up little space, does not weigh too much, and provides much greater comfort.

Have you ever lit a fire with flint? If not, I will tell you that it is not that easy. Especially if you don’t have the right kindling or don’t know how to prepare it properly. Of course, for many experienced people, tinder is their favorite way to start a fire… For experienced people.

But what stands in the way of gaining experience with backpack equipment… with equipment? Well, the tinder contained in it is crap. It is only 8 mm in diameter and 70 mm in length. It’s little, very little. Only the number of sparks that can be generated from it is smaller. Even an experienced person may have some difficulty using something like this. This equipment is not suitable for an amateur.

The problem is that a decent fire starter costs at least several dozen zlotys, which would constitute a significant part of the budget. What to do then? Well… if you want to learn how to use a fire starter, buy a good one. If you are interested in a budget option, using a lighter is nothing to be ashamed of, as long as you don’t light a cigarette in front of children.

I won’t say a bad word. A rather disposable thing, but useful and useful when we are surprised by rain. And by the way, you can buy it in almost every newsagent’s, kiosk or everything shop for PLN 5. Buying a backpack with equipment is pointless if we want to get it. Moreover, exactly the same can be said about a notebook with a pencil: also a useful thing, only available cheaper separately.

Steel would be much better. Iron is not suitable for making tools… Okay, I don’t know who called it that, but they are almost certainly made of steel. Or more precisely, from its variety called “shit”. Do you want to have decent pliers? Then buy them at a hardware store. I suspect that even the cheapest ones will be better than those from this set.

The cheapest possible USB-charged LED flashlight with a 300 mAh battery. Shine will shine and that’s basically it. I suspect that the diode in your smartphone will provide more light. And certainly in a more pleasant, neutral color, because here you should expect not so much cold white light, but even blue light. For two tenners you can easily buy something better, even from a suspicious mustachioed guy at a stall.

Alternatively, this headlamp for PLN 7.99 from the RTV Euro AGD store. It’s not outstanding, but it shines and leaves two hands free. And AAA batteries will last longer than this miserable rechargeable battery.

This is where it gets interesting. Well, the specification states that it is suitable for charging, but not for data transmission. This is a clear signal that there are only current wires in it, not communication wires. Is this a problem? Of course. While charging, the devices negotiate with each other what current and voltage should flow. In the case of cables without this communication, we can count on 5 V and 500 mAh, i.e. charging with a power of 2.5 W. For modern smartphones, this is a ridiculous value.

The set also includes a charger. Almost certainly of the lowest possible quality. It’s much better to throw an old one lying in a drawer into your backpack. No matter how free she was.

A whistle, which may come in handy because it hurts your throat much less when whistling than when shouting, and it still carries. But why should we scream? For example, when we realize that this entire thermal sleeping bag is just a big garbage bag that we allowed ourselves to stuff, overpaying for a pile of useless junk. Because that’s what this name means: a large, plastic bag, but with such a price advantage that we could buy a whole roll of such bags for it. The carabiner is the cheapest piece of aluminum and I would be afraid to use it to attach the backpack to a tree.

It’s better than a carabiner. I could hang my backpack on a tree with this. And it’s worth it, especially in spring, because hungry foxes roam the forests and rob even the stupidest tourists. I know because I lost sausage and bread this way a few years ago. The redhead stole an entire bag of food from under my hand and ran away into the forest. However, anyone can buy such links, in the above-mentioned store everything costs PLN 5.

At this price, we can count on poor steel and a mechanism that is easy to break. We can use it to open sausages for grilling and even make cuts. It is even possible that it can even sharpen sticks for a fire. I wouldn’t count on more for this knife. And if it fails… we can hurt ourselves with it.

Do you want a decent and cheap knife? Go to some gardening or tools and work clothes store. There, for a few tenners, you will find a knife from Morakniv. It may not be foldable and the handle smacks of plastic. However, it is solid, comfortable and durable. And no, you don’t need a longer or serrated blade.

That is, you may need such equipment, but not these specific ones, but their decent equivalents, or bought much cheaper, without a kit, in a local store. It’s simply a waste of money.
