Poles report thousands of scams, and Internet giants ignore them
Most reports end up in the trash
In 2025, NASK specialists reported 46,511 materials violating the regulations of platforms and Polish law. Social networking sites removed only 12% of them. This means deleting 5572 entries. Administrators completely rejected 20% of submitted reports. Other manipulated materials are still visible online.
In statistics he stands out indicator of moderated entries. It amounts to 68% throughout the year. However, this result may confuse the reader. It was mainly due to this mass suspension of bot accounts on the X website. These profiles participated in organized disinformation operations with code names Overload and Undercut. These activities intensified in the second half of the year.
Different approach to security
Individual portals approach incoming reports differently. Administration TikTok she deleted it 70% reported recordings. Team Facebook deleted 40% specified posts. On the other hand Instagram liquidated less than 27% harmful materials.
Platform X removed only 2% of the entriesalthough it has suspended many slot accounts. Business Google she deleted it almost 9% reported videos and fake ads. Messengers were the worst in the ranking Discord, Telegram and Bluesky. Their administrators they rejected all reports about violations sent by the Disinformation Analysis Center.
Elections in the shadow of disinformation
During the period presidential campaign a lot of manipulated information was published on the Internet. They concerned the voting process and the candidates themselves. Criminals took advantage artificial intelligence to create fake videos. In this way, the fraudsters generated statements from politicians that never took place.
Only in the second quarter, analysts reported to the portal administration over 3,800 reports related to this topic. Companies removed only 19% of them. As many as 76% of the manipulated election materials remained fully available on the Internet to every user.
Fraud and sale of fake applications
Fraudsters impersonated public institutions and famous people on a large scale. Advertisements using the image of Jurek Owsiak or Barbara Kurdej-Szatan appeared on the Internet. In this way, criminals encouraged false investments. Fraudsters also generated videos of doctors to sell alleged supplements. This led to the theft of personal data and money.
An application pretending to be the mObywatel program was also sold on the Polish network. Cybercriminals offered software that allowed people to change their date of birth and name. These offers were often made to minors via Discord. His administration rejected all notifications on this matter sent by the Polish research institution.
No response to tragedies and incidents
Disinformation also concerned important criminal events and state security. In September 2025, foreign drones violated our airspace. Entries immediately appeared online accusing Ukraine of wanting to drag Poland into the war. In November, an act of sabotage took place on the railway tracks near Warsaw. Russian propaganda quickly repeated online entries about the alleged lack of an explosion.
In December last year, an eleven-year-old girl was murdered in Jelenia Góra. False posts about the Ukrainian citizenship of the perpetrator of the murder were repeated on social media. State services denied this information. Despite this, social media platforms in most cases rejected requests to remove these false posts.
