The government is tinkering with the tax code. The tax office announces changes
The government adopted changes to the Tax Ordinance Act. Although they will enter into force 3 months after their announcement, which means we will have to wait a while, they are important from the perspective of citizens.
According to new regulations all tax interpretations that will be issued by commune heads, mayors and city presidents will be published in one nationwide database. Specifically, it concerns the EUREKA Customs and Tax Information system.
Thanks to this solution, taxpayers from all over Poland will be able to more easily check how local governments apply the regulations on local taxes and fees.
In this way, access to individual tax interpretations, i.e. the position of the tax authority that explains the application of regulations in a specific situation, is to be facilitated.
Thanks to the central publication, taxpayers will be able to easily check how similar cases were resolved in other municipalities and refer to established practice. The new solution will also increase the transparency of administration activities.
Currently, all interpretations were published separately in the Public Information Bulletins of individual municipalities. Now they will go to one base. Importantly, the documents will be devoid of data that would allow identifying the applicant or other persons indicated in the interpretation.
In addition, the EUREKA database will include not only tax interpretations, but also information about their change, repeal or expiry.
