You won’t buy a Steam Deck anymore. RAM problems caught up with him
If you were planning to buy a Steam Deck, it is definitely too late: the hardware is no longer available and will not be in the near future. On the main page of the store we can see the following message:
Note: Steam Deck OLED may be temporarily unavailable in some regions due to memory and disk shortages.
Of course, we could have expected this. Just last week I wrote that these devices may soon be out of stock because they are disappearing from many markets. And as you can see, I was right.

Of course, it’s not like this device can’t be found anywhere anymore. It is still available in other stores. The problem is that while the 512 GB OLED version is priced at PLN 2,599 on Valve’s website, in Media Expert you have to pay PLN 2,859.05. However, the withdrawn LCD 256 GB variant cost PLN 1,899 on Steam, and in Media Expert it is for PLN 2,199. However, it should be emphasized that this version will no longer be available on the market. As we can read on the Valve store website:
The Steam Deck LCD 256GB is no longer in production and will no longer be available once sold out.
Of course, Steam Deck OLED will return to the offer sooner or later. However, considering the constantly growing shortage of RAM systems and the fact that Valve wants to release Steam Machine and VR goggles this year, it will probably happen later. But is it really such a big problem?
Unfortunately, yes. Steam OS works much better in this type of equipment than Windows. Fortunately, we have Lenovo Legion Go S in purple version with Steam OS on board. This device is noticeably more efficient than Steam Deck. However, it does not have two large touchpads, which are useful in some games. And what’s more important, it offers an LCD screen, not OLED. And although I am the owner of Lenovo equipment, I must admit that the difference in the image in this case is really impressive.
