Google Maps is preparing a new feature. Just quickly circle and ask
Gemini has been able to use Google Maps data for some time now, and is now expanding its operations. The new function is intended to enable those using the application attaching a selected map fragment to the messenger. The Google Maps user interface allows you to zoom in, explore the current area, and take advantage of precise locations. Gemini uses Maps to respond to queries. It doesn’t work perfectly yet (tests are ongoing), but it will be a pretty solid base.
Google Maps integration with Gemini is getting smarter
And more and more advanced, and that’s something to be proud of. Android Authority version 17.6.58.ve.arm64 enabled the new feature and shared his impressions. The new feature allows users to attach a specific area of the map directly to the prompt and then ask questions based on that location.
You will talk to Gemini about the map section
After adding the map area. Gemini can even suggest restaurants, tourist attractions, hospitals or other places, depending on our needs and what question we ask him. Thanks to Gemini’s increasingly improved conversational capabilities, you can better understand the location and obtain more precise results.
Instead of asking “Find a cafe with high customer ratings near the market square in Krakow”, you will be able to just quickly circle the selected area on the map and simply ask: “Where to eat?”. However, this is not the end of the improvements. You will also be able to ask Gemini whether the area is safe or what the average rent is in a given housing estate. Most importantly, you will be able to enlarge or reduce the selected area before attaching it.
The feature is currently in the development phase, but once it is implemented, it will certainly make life easier for many people. The most important thing is that the foundations for this type of functionality are already ready.
