Baldur’s Gate 3 with its own series. It will be made by HBO

HBO is working on a series set in the universe Baldur’s Gatewhich is to constitute a continuation of the events known from Baldur’s Gate 3. The project promises to be extremely ambitious because he will be at its helm Craig Mazinco-creator and showrunner of the hit film The Last of Us. Mazin will be responsible for practically everything: from the concept and script, through executive production, to creative supervision of the whole project.

The production is intended to introduce new characters, but at the same time not cut off from what players already love. There are plans to return selected characters from the game, and Mazin intends to contact the voice actors of Baldur’s Gate 3, presenting them with ideas for participating in the series and ways of adapting their roles to the screen. This is a signal that HBO wants to maintain the continuity and atmosphere of the originalinstead of starting everything from scratch.

Although the project is in its early stages, one thing is certain: the series is not produced with the direct participation of Larian Studiosthe game’s creators. This information was confirmed by Geoff Keighley himself.

As he admitted, he spent nearly a thousand hours in the world of Baldur’s Gate 3 and sees the opportunity to further develop the story created by the Belgians and Wizards of the Coast as a dream come true.
