Electricity prices in 2025
The amendment to the laws regulating electricity prices sets the price of electricity for households at the level of PLN 500 per MWh. Moreover, by mid-2025, many consumers will be exempt from the capacity fee. This applies to those using consumption points with voltage up to 1 kV and consuming electricity for their own use – in most households.
Sensitive entities and local government units will also receive support – by the end of March 2025, the price of electricity for them will not exceed PLN 693 per MWh net. In the following months, the energy price for these consumers will be “unfrozen”. There will no longer be restrictions for companies.
The amendment was passed without any amendments. 92 senators voted for the resolution, no one was against and no one abstained. For it to become legally binding, the only thing missing is Andrzej Duda’s signature. The entire intervention will cost the state just over PLN 5.6 billion.
