If the proposed regulation on fire protection comes into force, we will have new regulations from November. The installation of some device would be mandatory in every apartment.
Smoke detector for safety
Discussions on The topic of increasing the safety of residents in blocks of flats and houses has been going on for some time. In many countries, it is standard to install smoke detectors in apartments – we are obliged to do so, among others. in Germany, Austria, Finland, Denmark, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. There has been no such order in Poland so far. But many things indicate that this will soon change. The Ministry of Interior and Administration is working hard on amending the regulation on fire protection. According to the latest idea, each apartment will have to have a smoke or carbon monoxide detection device.
I hope that on November 22 we will join the countries that meet such requirements.

It must be admitted that the idea is good, because soon we will have the heating season in full swing. But don’t panic – nothing will happen that quickly. The new regulations would first apply to new buildings that are under construction. In the case of the rest, you will certainly be able to count on it at least a 5-year transition period to adapt to the new regulations. A shorter period is also taken into account due to the low price of smoke detection devices.
