A woman’s visit to Disney theme parks ended tragically. Now her husband can’t sue the corporation because… he accepted the terms and conditions of the Disney+ streaming platform.

It was supposed to be a nice and pleasant visit to the Disney theme park. Unfortunately, for Kanokporn Tangsua it ended tragically. In one of the restaurants, a woman, before placing an order, informed the staff about her severe allergy to nuts. Despite this, she was given a dish with this ingredient, which ended in her death. Now the husband can’t sue the corporation because… he agreed to the Disney+ terms and conditions.

Disney defends itself with regulations

The whole thing sounds absurd, but Disney defends itself by saying that the man had accepted the Disney+ service terms and conditions several years earlier. And it clearly states that all disputes with the company must be resolved through arbitration.

The lawyers also claim that he had agreed to identical terms a month earlier on the My Disney Experience app, which was used to purchase tickets for the ill-fated visit. As a result, the man cannot sue the corporation whose employees made a dramatic mistake.

The husband’s lawyers called Disney’s approach shocking and unfair. They also emphasize that the man is suing the company on behalf of his deceased wife, so in such a case the regulations he accepted should have no significance.

There is no telling how the case will end. I really see only one way out for Disney, which is to admit guilt, apologize, and pay. Otherwise, the image damage that will already be there could be much worse than the potential financial costs.
